摘要: Abstract Objective To analyse the preanaesthetic assessment prior to elective surgery in hospitals of Spanish National Health Care System. Methods A prospective cross-sectional descriptive observational survey was performed. Primary variables were patient characteristics, type evaluation and evaluator, as well support evaluator received during assessment. Secondary included number operating rooms available for surgery, preanaesthesia clinic facilities. Data analysed by univariate bivariate analysis. Results total 214 System invited participate, 203 centres responded, with all them having a clinic. In 183 (90%), surgerypatients interviewed their surgical intervention, 202 (99.5%) anaesthesiologist physician performed interview. 128 (63%), anaesthesiologists helped preoperative nurses alone (49%) or together auxillary (14%). 68 (33%) they supported only 7 (3%) obtained no help at all. 14 (7%) anaesthesia assessed patients directly (under supervision an physician).
