Prognostic significance of surgery and radiation therapy in cases of anaplastic astrocytoma: retrospective analysis of 170 cases.

摘要: Object The purpose of this retrospective study was to estimate the prognostic impact treatment parameters for 170 patients with anaplastic astrocytoma (AA). Methods Survival outcome and factors were analyzed AA. In multivariate analysis, site lesion (frontal or parietal lobe, p = 0.002), extent surgery (total subtotal resection, 0.001), Karnofsky Performance Scale status (0–2, 0.021), age (≤ 50 years, 0.024), total dose radiation therapy (> 60 Gy, 0.029) significant favorable factors. analysis groups according surgery, who underwent resection had a significantly more prognosis than did partial biopsy (5-year survival rate 54.0% compared 17.5% biopsy; median time [MST] 62.6 months 22.9 [p < 0.0001, log-rank test]; hazard ratio [HR] 0.6...
