摘要: Background: Intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) is one of the methods used to deliver a large single dose tumor tissue while reducing exposure normal surrounding tissue. However, usefulness intraoperative electron for malignant gliomas has not been established. Methods: During period from 1987 1997, 32 patients with were treated IORT. The histological diagnoses anaplastic astrocytoma in 11 and glioblastoma 21 patients. Therapy consisted surgical resection using 12–15 Gy (median, 15 Gy). later underwent postoperative external (EXRT) median total 60 Gy. Each IORT was randomly matched who had EXRT alone (control). Patients according grade, age, extent removal, location. Results: In group, one-, two- five-year survival rates 81%, 51% 15%, respectively 54%, 43% 21%, control 63%, 26% 0%, 70%, 18% 6%, There no significant difference between either group or group. Conclusions: improve compared that have received alone.
