摘要: Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease in individuals with history of multiple concussions or other forms repetitive brain injury. A definite diagnosis can only be made post-mortem and it unclear why some appear more susceptible to neurological symptoms following injury than others. CTE has become major concern exposed increased risk concussion, for example, sports athletes military personnel, but its prevalence such groups unknown. The condition shares molecular pathologies disorders appears that concussion initiate degenerative process involving protein misfolding may propagate over the many years after trauma. Clinical manifestations include wide range psychiatric symptoms. These should treated presently there no disease-modifying therapy against CTE. In contrast most diseases, preventable. Key Concepts Chronic develop secondary mild injuries. A post-mortem. CTE prevented not cured – prevention symptomatic treatment are important. Brain changes possible detect monitor using biomarkers. It important study factors CTE – why do chronic sometimes others?
