摘要: The efficacy of paroxetine and fluoxetine their effects on cognitive behavioural function were compared in a 6 week, double-blind, randomized study 106 elderly depressed patients (aged 61 to 85 years). Antidepressant was assessed using the Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD), Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) Clinical Global Impression (CGI) scale. Sandoz Assessment Geriatric (SCAG), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), HAMD factor scores used assess function. Paroxetine demonstrated comparable treatment patients, but at end treatment, there significantly higher proportion responders than fluoxetine. Both treatments produced improvements all measures function, superior from Week 3, indicating possible early effect. There no difference between two agents either tolerability or safety treatment.
