摘要: The analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) normally involves sample collection, transfer to laboratory, preparation, and the chromatographic separation analytes. However, in some cases, it is impractical or impossible collect samples prior analysis, while time has be minimized. Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) an ideal technique for a rapid situ chemical analysis. Here, we present portable cloud-integrated pen-probe analyzer based on IMS demonstrate its applications VOCs emanating from surfaces. user approaches sampled surface presses button pen-probe. then executed automatically. are scavenged by suction force directed corona discharge atmospheric pressure ionization source. ions separated drift tube according their size charge detected Faraday plate detector. detector signal amplified digitized. spectral data deposited Internet cloud along with location further retrieval processing. platform incorporates mobile Wi-Fi router easy connectivity global positioning system module geolocation. prototype was developed using low-cost electronic modules (Arduino, Tinker Board S). It characterized standards. limits detection pyrrolidine, 2,4-lutidine, (-)-nicotine 48.9, 2.30, 416 nmol, respectively (amounts substances placed sampling surface). selected real specimens (nicotine patch, skin exposed nicotine, fish sauce, fried chicken) were also subjected yielding characteristic ion spectra.
