摘要: An apparatus and method are disclosed for detecting terahertz radiation at room temperature. A pixel includes a sub-wavelength split-ring resonator, is mechanically coupled to (but thermally decoupled from) substrate via cantilever formed from two materials that have significant mismatch in their thermal expansion coefficients. Incident causes the resonator resonate, thereby generating heat transferred cantilever, causing flex. optical readout system secondary light source, such as laser, shines on reflective surface pixel, whereby photodiode detects reflected permits calculation of relative deflection nanometer range. exemplary detector has noise equivalent power rating approximately 60 pW/√Hz.
