摘要: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for segmenting video. A system configured to practice the method determines a total duration of video asset. The identifies an optimal streaming chunk minimum duration. Then segments asset into set chunks, wherein at least one final penultimate is less than greater duration, each remaining can segment based on keyframes or codecs. optionally compile manifest file, such as m3u8 containing pointers in chunks. stream playback device file.
