摘要: NITARP, the NASA/IPAC Teacher Archive Research Program, partners small groups of largely high school educators with research astronomers for a year-long project. This paper presents summary how NITARP works. Because has been running since 2009, and its predecessor ran from 2005-2008, there have many lessons learned over last 13 years, some which are also discussed here. The most important these include following. Scientists must see their work on team as partnership equals. Educators be reminded often that they will not command all information needed during year, it is ok to ask lots questions. teams need about 5 people: mentor astronomer, teacher (who through program before), 3 new educators; larger or smaller just don’t well. Teams communicate regularly frequently year.
