摘要: Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the presence sleep disturbances in patients with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME) using questionnaires. Further, we tried evaluate whether alterations quality may influence clinical expression JME. Methods Sixty-two JME treated levetiracetam were included. Demographic and variables collected. Moreover, all submitted Pittsburgh Sleep Quality index (PSQI) Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) order respectively assess during last month daytime sleepiness. All followed up for a 6-month period divided two groups: seizure-free (Group 1) seizure recurrence 2). PSQI ESS scores synthesized as binary Results Both reduced sleepiness associated an increased risk suffering from seizures follow-up period. In fact, score  Conclusions Our findings show that increase occurrence spite appropriate pharmacological treatment. This negative effect seems be more relevant younger patients. disorders their specific correction should taken into consideration management
