摘要: Outlined is the protocol for field research in Malawi aimed at ascertaining whether infants born to anemic mothers areas where malaria prevalent are increased risk of morbidity. Specifically seeks to: 1) quantify prevalence and pattern anemia living endemic; 2) investigate birth hemoglobin associated with clinical infancy; 3) measure associations between fetal maternal iron status pregnancy; 4) contribution growth retardation. Anemia incidence will be assessed through a larger cohort study enrolled followed up 18 months. Also planned case-control that compare without anemia. Odds ratios deficiency parasitemia computed cases controls determine relative each status. Finally measured low-birth-weight growth-retarded those normal weights. The findings used develop strategy control among high infants. This particular concern developing countries blood transfusions can lead human immunodeficiency virus infection.
