摘要: Our objective was to characterize the association between types of radiographic findings and outcome in foals with pneumonia caused by Rhodococcus equi. Admission lateral thoracic radiographs 62 culture-confirmed R. equi were reviewed retrospectively. A scoring system developed individually assess severity alveolar pattern, interstitial tracheobronchial lymphadenopathy, pleural effusion, number nodular opacities cavitary lesions. Individual scores added obtain a total score ranging from 0 (normal) 22. Forty-three (69%) survived discharge. The median nonsurvivors (14; range, 9-16) significantly (P = 0.007) higher than that survivors (11; 4-15). Foals greater or equal 15 6.15 times (95% CI: 1.35 28.2) less likely survive lower 0.019). multivariate logistic regression model used identify potential associations specific lesions outcome. statistically significant 0.002) correctly classified 75.8% foals. Only pattern made contributions model. There no concurrent isolation other bacteria along Based on results this study, are associated poor pneumonia.
