摘要: The ability to achieve reattachment of soft tissues, such as tendon, directly onto a prosthetic surface would be great benefit in case periarticular bone loss or resection. Bone and potential tissue ingrowth using porous tantalum has been observed prior animal studies. We hypothesized washers used reattach canine patellar tendon provide sufficient strength withstand physiologic loading. reattached the released tibia two 33 skeletally mature dogs. Force plate analysis gait, tensile testing reconstruction, histologic into implants were performed after 3, 6, 12 weeks' survival. Physiologic weightbearing on operated leg had normalized 6 weeks reconstruction surgery. mechanical was 76% native insertion by but did not increase further with time. Fibrous occupied approximately 1/2 available space at all times. Our data suggest healing material can achieved
