摘要: Purpose To examine the relationship between various clinical measures of visual field and patient-reported symptoms health status in a large cohort patients with glaucoma at time diagnosis. Patients Methods The 607 Collaborative Initial Glaucoma Treatment Study received standardized examinations enrollment. In addition, they completed telephone-administered, health-related quality-of-life questionnaire, which included Visual Activities Questionnaire (VAQ) symptom problem checklist. Results total subscale scores, particularly peripheral vision subscale, correlated weakly but significantly global scores. Symptoms attributed to also Correlations other measures, including only central pericentral test locations did not strengthen association, simulating binocular scores produced slightly stronger correlations. Conclusions At diagnosis, most were relatively free glaucoma-related impairments. Various derived from data modestly associated patients' perceptions quality life. As population is followed up longitudinally, it will be important see whether these pertinent associations become stronger.
