摘要: This study addresses the timely issues of modelling, and defining selection criteria for, a solid-state fault isolation device (FID) intended for use in power electronics-based distribution systems (PEDS). work subsequently derives FID parameters by mapping characteristics conventional medium-voltage system onto that PEDS envisioned under new multi-university Engineering Research Centre. When circuit breakers are used systems, they have relatively long clearing time, causing voltage to collapse significant time. A semiconductor breaker, however, is expected be able switch fast enough keep disturbance within acceptable limits. The main focus this address operational interaction between electronic converters FID. utilisation rate current decrease (di/dt) control during turn-off conjunction with passive clamping devices manage overvoltage results from very breaker operation introduced. In contrast simple RC-snubber circuit, proposed management avoids high leakage current, which undesirable drawback circuits. presented prototype experimentally verified low test
