摘要: This paper explores everyday interactions with the British welfare state at a moment when it is attempting to shift and transform its funding regimes. Based on study situated in offices of two London legal services providers, draws attention role set actors poised between local officers citizens: advisers who carry out work translation, helping people actualize their rights and, same time, forcing disparate agencies “speak one another.” Advice governmental providers are increasingly part system, correct each other’s faults. At advisers’ runs counter state’s aims formal process used challenge unfair legislation. The picture neither separation civil society, nor which monolithic ineluctably eroding independence third sector. Instead, ever more complex, blurred idiosyncratic tangles state, business sector emerging field public services.
