摘要: Breast reconstruction following mastectomy can be achieved by a variety of techniques using alloplastic implants, autogenous tissues, or both. In the last 30 years, breast has progressed from rarely requested procedure to one that become an integral part patient management. The modern era began in 1963 with introduction silicone gel prosthesis. 1972, Radovon described use tissue expansion for reconstruction. This technique allowed patients more significant skin deficits benefit early 1980s, autologous was revolutionized Hartrampf transverse rectus abdominis muscle (TRAM) flap. These developments have resulted natural and esthetically acceptable outcomes. Experience over time also shown oncologically safe component overall treatment plan. Perhaps most importantly, yields psychological benefits women, offering sense normalcy, “return wholeness” way leave cancer experience behind them.
