摘要: This book explores multiparty, multicultural interaction at international business meetings. It investigates discourse an Italian company's meetings of its distributors, conducted mainly in English and attended by participants from different countries Europe, Asia North America. Data come audio recordings the meetings, normally lasting two to three days, are supplemented author's observations The study uses a series approaches analyze selected linguistic interactional features, presenting in-depth analysis discussion data extracts that draws on both qualitative quantitative approaches. highlights way main company speaker some multilingual use discursive strategies build common ground, construct cooperative relationship or negotiate avert conflict. questions role cultural differences approaching multicultural, argues organizational roles, context individual must also be considered.
