摘要: This invention concerns the use of cyclopamine in vivo on basal cell carcinomas (BCC's) to achieve therapeutic effect by causing differentiation tumor cells and, at same time, apoptotic death and removal these while preserving normal tissue cells, including undifferentiated epidermal layer hair follicles. Causation apoptosis is a non-genotoxic mechanism thus unlike radiation therapy most currently used cancer chemotherapeutics which act DNA-damage. These novel effects, previously unachieved chemotherapeutic, make highly desirable therapy, treatment BCC's other tumors that hedgehog/smoothened signal transduction pathway for proliferation prevention apoptosis.
