摘要: Prolonged exposure to nicotine accelerates onset and progression of renal diseases in habitual cigarette smokers. Exposure nicotine, either via active or passive smoking is strongly shown enhance oxidative stress augment kidney failure various animal models. In this study, we investigated the effects resveratrol supplementation on nicotine-induced injury a rat model. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were given (0.6 mg/kg, i.p.) alone combination with (8 i.p.), angiotensin II type I receptor blocker, irbesartan (10 p.o.) for 28 days. Upon completion treatment, kidneys changes structure, markers stress. Administration days resulted significant impairment as by marked increase plasma creatinine, blood urea nitrogen (BUN) Co-administration however successfully attenuated these changes, concomitant antioxidants such glutathione similar conventionally used irbesartan. These data altogether suggest that targeting could alleviate injury. Antioxidants may be clinically important management function
