摘要: The analysis and design of a 4 × Butler matrix that utilizes tapered-coupled-line directional couplers is presented. As basic element the matrix, previously designed measured 3.3-dB coupler has been used. Two different realizations are considered, i.e. network consisting tapered-line Schiffman phase shifter, in which appropriate characteristics have ensured by substituting one 0/180° 3-dB/90° coupler. In this solution, needed as 5-section symmetrical coupled-line tightly coupled section with use tapered-coupled-lines. proposed technique allowed for achieving very good amplitude due to fact large discontinuity between coupled-lines having coupling coefficients avoided. operational bandwidth presented matrices exceeds two frequency octaves.
