摘要: Land condition monitoring information is required for the strategic management of grazing land and a better understanding ecosystem processes. Yet, policy makers those managers whose properties are situated within north-eastern Australia's vast Great Barrier Reef catchments, there has been general lack geospatial information. This paper provides an overview integrated activity in rangeland areas two major catchments Queensland: Burdekin Fitzroy regions. The project aims were to assemble datasets that would assist support decision-makers investing public funds; deliver these data natural resource management(NRM) community groups, which had given increased responsibility delivering local environmental outcomes. We describe rationale processes used produce new derived from remotely sensed Landsat thematic mapper (TM) high resolution SPOT 5 satellite imagery rapid ground assessment. Specific products include subcatchment groundcover change maps, regional mapping indicative very poor condition, stratified site summaries. Their application, integration, limitations discussed. innovation NRM issues with respect across areas, effective transfer decision-making capacity level.
