摘要: The presence of a nitric oxide synthetase (NOS) was demonstrated in the rat brain. It has been recently that NOS-inhibitors reduce food intake mammals and this suggest (NO) might be physiological mediator involved mechanisms controlling feeding behavior. Actually, there is no information about acute central peripheral effects NOSinhibitors on behavior obese an lean Zucker rats. That why we investigated dose-dependent activity NG-Nitro-Arginine-Methyl-Ester (L-NAME) these When given peripherally rats, L-NAME produced dosedependent decrease (p < 0.001). calculated MED ED 50 were 0.50 mg/kg IP 3.46 IP, respectively. These could not reproduced rats whatever dose used = 0.59). anorectic properties wery well translated into microstructure Time spent to eat 0.001), meal duration 0.01) number 0.001) reduced Interestingly, same but size increased compensatory manner. Central administration still remained insensitive. aminergic and/or peptidergic defects associated with expression hyperphagia explain differences observed between animals. results indicate role show it
