摘要: Dilution bioassays were conducted to evaluate the impact of nutrients on biomass (chlorophyll a), photosynthetic potential, and class composition suspended algal assemblages in middle Cape Fear River (USA). Ambient concentrations dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) soluble reactive phosphorus (SRP) varied from 37.2 83.8 1.0 7.1 μmol L–1. Experiments at photon flux densities (PPFDs) similar mixed water column (< 1 5.3 E m–2d–1) showed no change chlorophyll a, or 15, 30, 45% dilutions DIN, SRP, both. However, a potential increased significantly nutrient dilution PPFDs four-fold above ambient, while abundance diatoms Chrysophytes under elevated PPFD ambient nutrients. Overall, data indicate that irradiance is more important than determining size assemblages. (© 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
