摘要: OBJECTIVE: To assess the prevalence of three troublesome temporomandibular disorder (TMD) symptoms and awareness bruxism in two cohorts subjects aged 65 75 years.BACKGROUND: Epidemiological studies have demonstrated varying TMD symptoms. The results concerning elderly people are inconclusive.MATERIAL AND METHODS: In 2007 identical questionnaires were sent to all born 1942 1932 living Swedish counties. response rate was 73.1% for 65- 71.9% 75-year-old subjects, totally 9093 subjects.RESULTS: great majority reported no or only a few problems. Less than 4% considered their be rather severe. mean TMD-related greater women men both age groups. marked lower 65-year-old women, whereas differences small among men.
