摘要: Primary chloroplast transcripts are processed in a number of ways, including intron splicing, internal cleavage polycistronic RNAs, and endonucleolytic or exonucleolytic cleavages at the transcript termini. All RNAs also subject to degradation, although curious feature many mRNAs is their relative longevity. Some these processes, e.g., psbA splicing stability mRNAs, regulated response light–dark cycles nutrient availability. This review highlights recent advances our understanding processes model organism Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, focusing on results since extensive reviews published 1998 [Herrin DL et al. (pp. 183–195), Nickelsen Y 151–163), Stern DB Drager RG 164–182), Rochaix JD (eds) The Molecular Biology Chloroplasts Mitochondria Chlamydomonas. Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht, Netherlands]. We allude studies with other organisms, potential impact Chlamydomonas genome project where appropriate.
