摘要: Catalpa bignonioides Walt. (Bignoniaceae) is a species that belongs to tropical family but has been introduced in many countries as ornamental. Although this plant consumed by indigenous cultures of South America for medical uses, experimental studies the biological properties are lacking. The aim work was study activity crude extracts from either pods, seeds or leaves which were collected Spain. Ethyl ether, butanolic and aqueous fractions pod extract also prepared studied. We have examined antimicrobial against five bacteria one yeast, cytotoxic HepG2 cells anti-inflammatory antinociceptive effects rodents. A preliminary phytochemical analysis conducted. Results showed no antitumoral effects, prominent actions extracts. These last activities may be result presence saponins, sterols phenols, mainly found pods plants.
