摘要: This paper appraises the initiatives of Global Mercury Project (GMP); a project designed to minimise impacts mercury use in artisanal and small-scale gold-mining (ASM) sector. The environmental health at ASM sites have local, national global implications that need be reconciled with benefits poverty reduction economic opportunity. GMP's awareness technology demonstration campaigns were successful reducing exposure pilot sites. Challenges encountered political, logistical, poverty-related. Lessons learned are presented provide guidance for next phase GMP.
