摘要: Poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate)/intumescent flame retardant (ammonium polyphosphate/pentaerythritol/zinc borate system) composites-EVA/IFR (APP/PER/ZB and EVA/IFR/Synergist [CaCO3, natural graphite, or expanded graphite (EG)] composites have been prepared by melting compounding method. The flammability, the combustion process, quantity of residual chars, morphology thermal stability chars investigated cone calorimeter, scanning electron microscopy thermo gravimetric analysis. results indicate that heat release rate (HRR), total released, smoke (TSR) EVA/IFR (IFR 30 phr) composite decrease to about 67.1, 78.2, 64% pure EVA, respectively. HRR, THR, TSR EVA/IFR/EG 9 phr, EG 1phr) 62.1, 76.2, 44% quantity, char structure are discussed find reasons phenomenon above. It has found EVA vulcanizates is improved fire jeopardizing dramatically reduced due addition IFR synergist, which can give some advice design formulations for practical applications as cable. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
