摘要: Introduction: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a combination of risk markers that appear to promote the development chronic disease. We examined burden MetS in Canada through its current and projected association with Methods: used measures from Canadian Health Measures Survey 2007–2009 identify prevalence adults examine associations between sociodemographic factors major diseases. estimated cumulative incidence diabetes percent fatal cardiovascular event using Diabetes Population Risk Tool (DPoRT) Framingham algorithms. Results: After adjusting for age, we found 14.9% had MetS. Rates were similar both sexes, but higher those who are non-Caucasian or overweight obese (p < .001 all three). The importance public health was demonstrated by significant disease relative general population, particularly diagnosed (11.2% vs. 3.4%) undiagnosed (6.0% 1.1%) type 2 diabetes. ten-year estimate mean (CVD) compared without (18.0% 7.1% diabetes, 4.1% 0.8% CVD). Conclusion: prevalent high proportion individuals have conditions. Projection estimates associated demonstrate rates this condition. Thus, may be relevant factor
