Alopecia and the metabolic syndrome

摘要: Hair loss is a common condition that affects most people at some point in their lives. It can exist as an isolated problem or with other diseases and conditions. Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) its association the metabolic syndrome (MetS) have received increasing interest since 1972, when first link between cardiovascular risk factors hair was raised. We reviewed studies concerning relationship MetS. Many investigated among AGA MetS individual components, particularly men, where disproportionately large number of these supports this association. has also been associated metabolic-related conditions, including coronary artery disease, polycystic ovary syndrome, Cushing well several nutritional deficiencies, all which led to many clinicians advocating for screening patients who present AGA.
