摘要: Premature death of the adoptively transferred cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTL) by means activation induced cell (AICD) represents one major constraints in devising an effective anti-cancer immune intervention strategy. Understanding mechanism AICD is, therefore, critical for developing methods to interfere with this process. Although existing paradigm on centers around initiation cascade events originating from engagement receptors leading effector caspases and eventually resulting death, recent findings have questioned universal role as executioners. We here review our current understanding contribution caspase-dependent caspase-independent executioners cells. will also discuss involvement mitochondria-centric pathway human tumor associated antigen-specific primary CTL its implications cancer immunotherapy.
