摘要: Objective To describe the demographic, social, physical and mental health factors associated with functional capacity of older adults in Department Antioquia 2012. Materials Methods A descriptive study records 4 248 aged 60 years or more as population, surveyed Antioquia, They were asked about their through a Katz survey consisting 6 items. With independent variables, frequency measurements calculated, along crude adjusted prevalence ratios (PR) respective 95 % CI. Results Being single, widowed separated, presenting little no educational level (66.4 %), suffering from hypertension (56.7 diabetes (16.8 %) bone problems (22.0 cigarette smoking (64.6 nutritional risk, depression (20.1 anxiety cognitive impairment (49.6 impact negatively on Antioquia. However, younger ages, active social lives, proper use leisure strengthen good same population group. Conclusions The results this indicate that there are demographic affect adults. Therefore, training them issue, order to recognize these influence weakening capacity, is required.
