"Nothing is carved in stone!": uncertainty in children with cancer and their families.

摘要: Although more children are surviving childhood cancer, they and their families still face many new stressors challenges. Understanding the experiences of cancer in is conditional upon building a sound comprehensive knowledge base that grounded research. Accordingly, longitudinal interpretive qualitative study was conducted to arrive at an understanding children's families' perspectives on having experience cancer-symptom trajectory. A purposive sample 39 with were recruited into study. Open-ended interviews participant observation primary data collection methods. Data analyzed by constant comparative method theory analysis illness narratives. Findings revealed addition stress suffering resulting from multiple symptom experiences, experienced other events or 'rough spots' made life difficult get through. numerous varied, all resulted experiencing feelings uncertainty. This paper focuses describing nature uncertainty families. Recommendations for nursing practice research discussed.
