摘要: Neopterin and the closely related biopterin belong to a group of pteridine compounds containing 2-amino, 4-0~0, pyrimidino-pyrazino-(pterin) ring, with 3-carbon side-chain on carbon 6. Pteridines were first described as pigments insects lower vertebrates [ll. During past ten years increased concentrations neopterin in body fluids have been reported patients three groups disorders hyperphenylalaninaemias [2], malignancy 131 several inflammatory disease states [3,4]. Since then rapidly increasing number publications appeared, indicating positive correlation between activity prognosis variety disorders. On basis these findings it has proposed that measurement should be used more widely clinical practice. Others, however, felt, utility measurements is limited. This, because wide range stimuli increase concentrations, consistent overlap results controls relatively small difference categories [5]. This articles will critically review present knowledge biosynthesis use assays
