摘要: Background  Paronychia is a well-known, but difficult to treat cutaneous toxicity associated with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor therapy. Although bacterial and fungal infections as well mechanical trauma may play role co-pathogens, there no good basis for an empirical antimicrobial chemotherapy in these patients. Materials methods  We retrospectively analysed the microbiological results resistance analysis of 42 cases EGFR inhibitor-associated paronychia induced by cetuximab. Results  identified 20 different species, among 72% Gram-positive bacteria, 23% Gram-negative bacteria 5%Candida species. About half microbes be considered residential flora skin, isolation from indicate pathogenic relevance this type reaction. Eight our patients were treated oral antibiotics, whereas two received antimycotic All other controlled using topical antiseptic, antibiotic agents. Conclusion  Empirical treatment performed cephalosporines, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin or moxifloxacin, antimicrobials have high vitro activity against majority isolated microorganisms reach concentrations relevant tissue.
