摘要: While there is evidence that strand separation in DNA an important control event for both transcription and replication (1,2) no specific model would provide a satisfactory mechanistic account as to how localized helical destabilization might be initiated by protein restricted sequence under the highly stabilizing conditions found vivo (3). An hypothetical sequence-specific can formulated quite naturally on basis of proton exchange mechanisms described this report. This provides exclusive G-C rich sequences influence polycationic proteins. Superficially, these features are contradictory well known stability regions ionic stabilization polycations. In addition, contains apparently self-contradictory notion increase H-bond strength will establish condition destabilization. Therefore, justification such based close examination rational its formulation second comparison predictive with several general observations melting reported literature.
