摘要: The cork oak ( Quercus suber L.) is an evergreen that characterized by the presence of a conspicuous thick and furrowed bark with continuous layer in its outer part. This gives economic importance as producer ornamental value parks urban areas around world. spreads western Mediterranean southern Europe North Africa, mostly integrating multifunctional agro-forestry systems usually combining production cattle grazing, hunting, other non-wood productions. Given regions where they are distributed, forests also valued for their ecological role to contain desertification soil erosion, contribution biodiversity maintenance. distribution, botanical aspects summarized this chapter general reviews species. tree growth analyzed relation within-the-year rhythm between-the-year variation, namely age climatic factors. silvicultural practices applied stands explained phases establishment, juvenile mature stages, description dense presented.
