摘要: A first estimate of secondary production in populations deep-water suprabenthic peracarids the Catalan Sea slope (northwestern Mediterranean) was attempted. Estimates are based both on size-frequency Hynes-Hamilton method and two empiric models. Our data set four oceanographic cruises carried out 1991 1992 between 391 1255 m depth, covering annual seasons (April 1991, December March 1992, July 1992). Production oscillated, depending each species, 0.129 mg DW/m2/year for Cumacea Leucon longirostris 9.002 mysid Boreomysis arctica. P/B ratios ranged 1.56 L. 12.64 Amphipoda Rhachotropis glabra. The extreme results cited were always obtained with method. Comparing models used, Brey’s (1990) equation values lower than Morin Bourassa (1992) model, ratios. deep-sea ( 4–5 orders magnitude case Amphipoda) available marine littoral shallow-water peracarids. However, from our within same range as that coastal neritic species. Also, summarising data, suprabenthos crustaceans showed higher infauna, whereas species mesopelagic euphausiids.
