摘要: Zebra mussels (Dreissena polymorpha) recently invaded North American aquatic ecosystems and are hypothesized to impact lakes by increasing water clarity through filtration shunting energy from pelagic benthic pathways (ES effect). We used an individual-based model of Oneida Lake, New York, walleye (Stizostedion vitreum) yellow perch (Perca flavescens) populations simulate ES effects on percids lowering zooplankton density production rates benthos rates. performed 50-year simulations involving both changes together each change alone. also determine robustness predictions under different assumed levels benthos, increased forage fish mayflies, stocking.
