摘要: Since the attempt to evidence structural brain damage in Parkinson's disease (PD) by conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is usually disappointing, we have investigated whether magnetization transfer ratio (MTR) can reflect changes grey and white matter of PD patients. MTR was quantified 44 regions interest (ROIs) both 11 non-demented patients, ranging from 2 4 on Hoehn Yahr Scale, eight age-matched healthy subjects. differences between patients controls were found supratentorial brainstem. In particular, lower values paraventricular (p<0.05) while no observed corpus callosum, frontal, parietal, occipital lobes or centrum semiovalis. Lower substantia nigra (p<0.001), red nucleus pons patient group. No discovered basal ganglia thalamus. These findings suggest that measurements brainstem may help recognize a marker for probable PD.
