摘要: The oxidation of alloys in 0.1 atm oxygen has been studied at temperatures 1000°, 1100°, and 1200°C. Twenty‐one with varying chromium [2–30 weight per cent (w/o)] aluminum (1–9 w/o) contents were examined. It was found that all the initially underwent a period transient before steady‐state conditions established. usually did not exceed 1 hr characterized by rapid conversion thin surface layers to oxides subsequent formation continuous one following oxides: , or . Steady‐state established these oxide layers, occurred three different mechanisms which growth an external layer over subscale Al2O3, continuous,
