摘要: The first infant intelligence tests assumed that cognitive development was a continuous process from infancy through adulthood. However, as the attempts to create predictive test failed time after time, discontinuity theory became favored perspective. Recent evidence indicates continuity may not have been adequately tested and should be viewed more balanced perspective consisting of both change continuity. In this chapter I will address issue continuities discontinuities in mental adulthood using developmental behavioral genetic approach. Data Colorado Adoption Project Infant Twin used support following hypotheses: (1) measures visual information processing administered during year life relate later I.Q.; (2) these are genetically influenced infancy; (3) individual differences is at least part mediated.
