摘要: Abstract In four experiments infants of 5–6 months age were tested for recognition memory briefly presented visual stimuli. the first experiment showed relatively more looking at a novel picture when it was paired with they had just studied 10 or 20 sec. This differential response to novelty served as evidence immediate memory. second these same 10- 20-sec study times used but not sufficient produce reliable over long (48 hr) retention interval even short an 40 The third demonstrated substantial delayed if brief reexposure materials introduced immediately prior test. reminder required less than minimal time found necessary in Experiment 1. results fourth indicated that savings effects occurred 3 solely due familiarity testing procedures. implications infants' are discussed.
