摘要: Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) reintroduction to the Dinaric Mountains is considered one of most successful reintroductions a large predator. Six reintroduced ani- mals founded population, which rapidly expanded from Slovenia, through Croatia, and all way Bosnia Herzegovina. However, decrease population size has been observed during last 10-15 years. Considering that possible inbreeding depression would be additive threats like poaching, traffic mortality prey base depletion, another extinction this species real possibility. We analyzed 204 samples collected between 1979 2010 using twenty microsatellite loci 900-bp mitochondrial DNA control region sequence evaluate conservation genetics aspects endangered population. Both markers confirmed low genetic variability considerable effective (0.3) compared source Carpathian Our analysis supported field observations decreasing number. As natural recolonization very remote possibility, we recommend augmentation
