摘要: We investigated two mortality events in wintering and migrating Song Thrushes (Turdus philomelos) Catalonia, northeastern Spain 2009 2010. Both episodes occurred late February to mid-March during the spring migration. Salmonellosis produced by serotype Salmonella enterica subsp. Hessarek (S. Hessarek) was identified as cause of death both episodes. Poor body condition, marked splenomegaly, microscopic disseminated intravascular coagulation with numerous tissular bacteria were most consistent findings. Macro-restriction profiling pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) using XbaI performed for epidemiologic typing S. isolates. Two clusters discernible, that are possibly related, a similarity 82.8%.
