摘要: Chlorophyll breakdown products are usually studied for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. The chlorophyll derivative Pheophorbide a (PPBa) is photosensitizer that can induce significant anti-proliferative effects in several human cancer cell lines. Cancer leading cause of death worldwide, accounting about 9.6 million deaths, 2018 alone. Hence, it crucial to monitor emergent compounds show anticancer activity advance them into clinical trials. In this review, we analyze the PPBa with or without photodynamic therapy also conjugated other chemotherapic drugs, highlighting capacity overcome multidrug resistance. We report activities different pathways activate, showing its possible applications treatment pathologies.
