摘要: Flavonoids represent a diverse group of phytochemicals which possess the capacity to act as antioxidants in vitro. This study examined free radical scavenging properties luteolin-rich artichoke extract and some its pure flavonoid constituents by assessing their ability prevent Cu2+-mediated LDL oxidation. Artichoke retarded oxidation dose-dependent manner measured prolongation lag phase conjugated diene formation, decrease rate propagation sparing endogenous α-tocopherol during The aglycone, luteolin (1 μM), demonstrated an efficacy similar that 20 μg/ml inhibiting lipid peroxidation. Luteolin-7-O-glucoside, one glycosylated forms diet, also reduction was less effective than luteolin. Studies copperchelating luteolin-7-O-glucoside suggest potential role for chelation antioxi...
