摘要: INTRODUCTION: The objective of this study was to verify the effectiveness deep breathing in management craving and anxiety symptoms crack-cocaine-dependent patients hospitalized for treatment a detoxification unit. METHODS: This is quasi-experimental clinical trial using quantitative analysis. convenience sample comprised 32 males. These subjects had cocaine as their drug choice, having used substance between 2 3 weeks prior beginning treatment, were able adequately perform technique. instruments were: Cocaine Craving Questionnaire-Brief (CCQB), visual analogue scale (VAS), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), form containing sociodemographic information data related pattern consumption psychoactive substances (SDF). A group intervention conducted with administration CCQB, VAS, BAI. After that, images use crack-cocaine shown same administered again. Next, participants performed technique 10 minutes, one more time. Finally, an individual interview done SDF completed. RESULTS: Our findings demonstrated decrease scores on VAS BAI after whose profile represents general users. CONCLUSION: In spite some methodological limitations, present suggests that effective patients.
