摘要: Aging infrastructure makes low-lying New York City highly vulnerable to climate change. After reviewing observed and projected trends, I outline the history of impact assessment in City, which recent years has come under sponsorship a concerned city government. also present two case studies more narrowly focused partnerships between government agencies University tackle adaptation challenges transportation water resource sectors respectively. While research by itself cannot replace participatory long-range planning process adequate investment prepare region for hazards, described illustrate how is leveraging its intellectual resources make better use current regulatory frameworks, providing potential model other jurisdictions.
